SWOT Analysis of Renewable Energy in Rural Development

Document Type: Original Article

Abstract

We found a few cases of renewable energy being well integrated into rural development. Renewable power generation, particularly wind and solar energy, has rapidly expanded in recent years, driven by the requirements of the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive and national targets with the use of the SWOT model.
SWOT analysis is a process that identifies the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of an organization. Specifically, SWOT is a basic, analytical framework that assesses what an organization can and cannot do, as well as its potential opportunities and threats. The SWOT analysis takes information from an environmental analysis and divides it into internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats.
